Graphic design studio, GrandArmy, has just recently completed an overhaul of the signage and packaging for the U.S. Postal Service calling it the "largest retail rebrand project in American history." Wanting to update its 31,000 locations, GrandArmy took the opportunity to simplify and modernize the in-store graphics as the USPS knew their locations needed help.
The rebranding took on all materials used in the retail outlets including the tags, signage, kiosks, menu boards and window stickers. None of the buildings locations could be physically altered so they had to have an interior transformation. The whole design is simply three colors (can you guess the three?) and three typefaces. Easy huh? Well their revamp also reached out to the design of the U.S.P.S. mobile app to act as an in-store guide. New promotional posters feature the American eagle and the bold statement of the Postal Service "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night" keeping it Americana.
