"Tent of Tomorrow" Receives Restoration Funds

The crown jewel of the 1964-65 World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows Corona Park has received funds from the city, in the amount of $5.8 million, for its restoration. A majority of the funding came from Mayor Bill de Blasio who contributed $4.2 million. With the neighboring Unisphere, the pavilion has become a symbol for the borough of Queens that looks like it will have another shot at life.

Philip Johnson would be proud.
